Chief Secretary’ a Office, CASTLEREAGH. – PETITION FOR A MUNICIPALITY. HIS Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, directs the publication, in accordance with the “Municipalities Act of 1867,” of the substance and prayer of a Petition addressed to His; Excellency, and signed by 110 persons, praying that, their locality therein described may be erected into a Municipality under the name of the “Municipal District of Castlereagh.” JAMES N. BRUNKER. The Petitioners state that they are persons who, upon incorporation, would be liable to be assessed for Municipal rates in aspect of property or household residence. That the population of the proposed Municipality is not less than 500, and the area thereof about 45 square miles. That the following are the boundaries proposed, viz:- County of Cumberland, parishes of Castlereagh and Londonderry; bounded on the west by the Nepean River; on the south by the northern boundaries of the Municipalities of Penrith and St. Marys ; on the east by South Creek; on the north-east by the Richmond Road; and on the north by the southern boundary of Ham Common. Your Petitioners trust that your Excellency will deal favourably with the foregoing, and your Petitioners, as in duty bound will ever pray.” |

MITCHELL, J.P. 1, Edward Clemson, do solemnly declare that all the signatures affixed to the appended petition, and numbered (32-53) thirty-two to fifty-two consecutively, are the genuine signatures of the persons whose signatures they purport to be, such persons are persons liable to assessment, for taxes in respect of property or household residence within the boundaries of the proposed Municipal District as set forth this petition. I, John Shaw, do solemnly declare that all the signatures affixed to the appended petition, and numbered (53 to ll0) fifty three to one hundred and ten consecutively, are the genuine signatures of the persons whose signatures they purport to be and that such persons are persons liable to assessment for Municipal taxes in respect of property or household residence within the boundaries of the proposed Municipal District as set forth in this petition.
