The Centenary of Federation was celebrated in 2001 and the Commonwealth Government offered funding for community projects to mark the occasion.
The Creative Embroiderers were granted funding to create a large piece to be installed in the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre foyer, high on a curved wall. It was titled Resonances of Inspiration and portrayed the elements which influenced cultural development of the community in the hundred years of Federal Government. Designed by Pamela Griffith, Mistress of Embroiderers was Barbara Curran, installed by Professor Ross Griffith of UWS.
